Itinerary

Travel through the Great Dolomites Road built in 1894, connecting Bolzano to Cortina. Stop at Carezza Lake for short walk and photos. At Costalunga Pass will get a glimpse of the first 5*hotel of the Dolomites built in 1893 – Grand Hotel Carezza – which hosted famous guests such as Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie and Empress Sissi of Austria. Continue through Val Di Fassa and the village of Canazei and arrive under the imposing peaks of the Sella Group. After driving through the 27 hairpins, arrive at Pordoi Pass (7359 ft.) From the Pordoi Pass we return back a few kilometers to reach the Sella Pass: here the landscape is really impressive with the Sella vertical walls that stand right in front of us. From the Sella Pass we can admire the Marmolada glacier (3,343m) and the majestic Sassolungo (3,181 m), the most famous mountain in Gardena Valley. We continue our tour onto Gardena Valley, the best known tourist valley of the Dolomites and reach in its main town, the beautiful Ortisei. Walking tour and check in at the hotel. Overnight.

Morning departure to Misurina Lake with the incredible view of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo. Stop for photo. Continue by car to the Auronzo Refuge, the starting point of your circular trek around the Three Peaks-Drei Zinnen, the bizarre and striking alpenstock belonging to Sesto Dolomites. Due to their special shape, they are considered the symbol of the Dolomites. The circular trek will take to the Lavaredo and Locatelli refuge and give you the chance to spend and unforgettable day on this beautiful mountain range. Lunch will be at a refuge along the way, which will give you the opportunity to taste the local mountain delicatessen. Return to the starting point – Rifugio Auronzo – and continue to Lake Dobbiaco, another important lake in the Eastern Dolomites. Continue our tour with the grand finale for the day, Lake Braies with its incomparable views and turquoise calm waters. Time to discover the lake on your own, perhaps by renting a row boat or just sitting by the shore taking in the last view or the reign. Return to Bolzano.
