Day 1: The Alto Adige Wine Road

Walking tour of Bolzano followed by a visit to the Archeological Museum to view Ötzi, the Ice Man the 5300 years old famous mummified corps. Transfer to Caldaro and to the Alto Adige Wine Road. Walking tour of Caldaro, and lunch at lake shore. Continue to Termeno, the spiritual birth place of the wine Gewuerztraminer. Visit of a winery and vineyards and wine tasting. Stop to a second winery for wine tasting. Return to Bolzano.

Day 2: Val Pusteria - Dolomites

Morning departure to Val Pusteria, and reach the village of Campo Tures, and visit Castle Taufers, famous for its ghost’s room and 24 decorates rooms. Continue to the town of Brunico, short walking tour and lunch. Return to Bolzano through the picturesque Val Badia and Val Gardena, home of the Ladin community and of the breathtaking Unesco World Heritage Dolomites. Stop in Ortisei and walking tour. Return to your hotel.

Day 3: Vipiteno- Bressanone

Morning departure to Vipiteno-Sterzing, Italy’s northernmost town. Visit its charming historical center. Stop for a light lunch. Afternoon visit to Bressanone-Brixen, Alto Adige oldest city and Episcopal See. Walking tour and visit of its major sights: the cloister, the Cathedral the 230 foot high Gothic tower and White Tower. Continue to the Novacella Abbey, a 800 years old monastery. Visit of the Abbey compound as well as the cellar. The area is famous for growing the Sylvaner grape. Return to your hotel.

Day 4: Dorf Tirol - Meran

Morning arrival to Dorf Tirol, visit Castle of Tirol the residence of the counts of Tirol once ruler of the region and enjoy an exhibition of falconry. Continue to Castle Bunnnenhof, seat of the Farmer’s Museum and private residence of US poet Ezra Pound’s daughter. Here enjoy a wine tasting on the roof of the castle with the family produced wine. Continue to Merano, the pearl of South Tyrol. Visit and return to Bolzano.
