Tour starts

Meet your English speaking guide in front of Café Loacker at Walther Square. After a quick introduction to the tour and the city,  you will dive straight into Bolzano’s wine tradition and history by stopping by the Dame of the Square , the magnificent late-gothic Cathedral. You’ll learn about the past of the city as a market town and gain insight about its intricate history.

Authentic Food Tasting Experience

During your walk there will be 5 stops where you will have the chance the savor authentic a unique local delicacies. Discover the lively local farmer market and popular spots with locals, and by walking and eating like locals do, sample different types of cheese, cold cuts bread and of course traditional Christmas sweets. Please note that the food samples are seasonal and subject to change.

Historical and Cultural Experience

Your local guide will lead you through the historical center of this charming alpine town, that during the holiday season literally transforms into a fairy tale setting. Festive aromas fills the street, the towns is decorated with shimmering Christmas lights and decorations and an overall romantic and magic atmosphere surrounds you. Your guide will illustrate you the town’s history as well as its culinary tradition with particular focus on the Christmas local dishes.

Tour ends

The tour is almost at the end, but there is still something left to do! Your guide will take you to another best-kept secret spot where you will sample local delicatessen like Knoedel (bread dumplings) and other fingerfood related to the Italian gastronomy. You will then given an orientation of the Christmas market, that you will discover on your own and have the chance to mingle with locals. At the end of our Bolzano Street Food Tour®, you are free to continue exploring the town or ask you guide for suggestions and directions.
