After boarding your private vehicle your guide will start illustrating your the history of the town in the immediate aftermath of the Treaty of St. Germain, beginning of the Italian rule in South Tyrol.
2

Historical & Cultural Experience

Leaving the old town behind you’ll right away notice the change of the architecture and the influence that the Fascism regime had on the town. Stop to some of the main buildings, best examples of the Rationalism art style, a style inspired by the classics and used by the dictatorship to display power and promote patriotism (Corso Libertà, Monument to Victory, the Court House).

3

Blue Collar Neighbourhood

Continue the tour and discover what was once the Italian blue collar neighborhood built in the suburbs during the industrialization of the town. Here lived poor families from the nearby regions (Veneto, Friuli and also from the South) emigrated and lured by the regime with the hope of finding a better life and jobs. Stop for pictures of the last standing “Semirurale” house (now a museum) representing this history of the neighborhoods and the family that lived there.

4

Bunker Visit

Lastly we make our way back towards the city center, stopping by the only open to the visitable Bunker where we’ll enjoy a private tour. The bunker was used by the German army during the occupation and is today not only an historical testimony of a controversial past, but a place for events, exhibitions and art performances. Following the tour, you will be returned to your accommodation or if interested, depending on the time, you can be dropped off at the Monument of Victory for an independent visit of its museum (free of charge).
