Tour starts
Meet your English speaking guide under the Statue of Walther von der Vogelweide or at your accommodation and depart to town of Merano. During the drive your private guide will explain the important role played by the Jewish community in the history and economic development of the town.

Historical and Cultural Experience
First stop will be in Meran where you will visit the only Synagogue in the area and the Jewish museum. Discover the exhibition and learn about the life of the Jewish community and their impact had on the town. Following the visit stop for lunch (not included) or a quick bite. Continue to Bolzano

Bolzano, the city of the Memory
Bolzano has been nominated as Italy’s “City of the Memory 2022” for the work it has done in the past years to remember the Shoah and the role played by the city and to commemorate its victims. Visit to the remains of what once was a transit camp, build during the Nazi occupation from where the first Italy’s deportation started. Along the way you’ll discover other memorials as well as the Jewish sector of the town’s cemetery.

The last part of the tour is in the historical center of Bolzano, where your will discover how the medieval town’s trade history was tightly connected with the Jewish community. At the end of the tour, you are free to continue exploring the town on your own or ask you guide for suggestions and directions.
