In South Tyrol we have not four but five seasons and we call it Toerggelen, our very own version of the more popular Thanksgiving. Toerggelen is a century old tradition that celebrate the end of the harvest season. On this full day tour we’ll experience the same tradition! We’ll drive to Velturno-Feldthurns, a charming village in the Isarco Valley, known as the chestnut village, the star dish of a typical Toerggelen menu. With your English speaking guide, hike the chestnut trail passing by the Sabbiona Abbey, Velturno castle while enjoying the view of the Dolomites mountain range of the Odle. Along the way stop to a local farm to enjoy a traditional home made Toerggelen menu with the new wine. Following lunch, we arrived to Chiusa-Klausen, the pretty town known as the Artist’s Town or Duerer’s Town, after the German painter Albrecht Duerer, that visited the area in the XV century. Walking tour and return by car to Bolzano.
