Itinerary

A visit to South Tyrol can't be complete without a visit to the Wine Road, a paradise for the wine lovers and connoisseur. On this tour you will discover Egna and the surrounding hills of Mazzon, considered the grand cru of this Pinot Noir variety in Italy. It is here in Egna that the national pinot noir competition is held.

You will arrive in Egna, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and South Tyrol, a medieval village, with cobblestone streets and narrow alleys. Famous for its medieval arches, noble residences and wonderful inner courtyards. Your first visit will be to a local winery located in the heart of the village and after a guided tour of the cellar, enjoy a wine tasting. Depending on the schedule time of the winery visit, before or after discover the village on a walking tour with your guide.

Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. After, depending on your interest, your could visit the the parish church of St. Florian/St. Floriano on the old imperial dated back to around 1145, or a walk along the Pinot Noir trail. You will then continue to the second visit of another local winery (and vineyards depending on availability) where you will further your knowledge on the star grape Pinot Noir as well as other indigenous grapes.

All good things must come to and end. Bid farewell to the host of the winery, enjoy the last sip of your wine or finish getting your souvenir from the wine shop. Enjoy the panoramic return journey to Bolzano.
